JOSEPH REIJNEN
Joseph Reijnen was born in Holland in 1952. It was here that he studied fine metal arts for 2 years and an apprentice program for a 3rd year some of which was completed in Phorzheim Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1976 and worked for others to get his feet on the ground, then opened a studio/workshop in Whitby, Ontario. Having fallen in love with Algonquin Park in the 70's, Joseph moved his family to Huntsville Ontario to be close to the park and enjoy Muskoka's beautiful surroundings. What better inspiration?

Allows the pieces to create itself...

When creating a piece of jewellery, Joseph will begin a design and then stray from it, allowing the piece to create itself. His preference is to work with silver & gold but enjoys working with other metals as well. He likes to make pieces with simple curves, the result being dramatic uncomplicated work which flows with elegance. Some designs are synonymous of his beautiful surroundings, and his European flair. Most recently Joseph designed a piece to enhance the 2006 brochure cover for the Huntsville Festival of the Arts.

MICHAEL REIJNEN
Michael was born in 1980 and has spent most of his life living in Huntsville. Jewellery making was not in Michael's plans for the future but he started working in the shop in July 2004 in sales and by September of that year was working behind the bench. He quickly discovered he had a passion for this kind of work and has not looked back. He has been apprenticing with Joseph and enjoying all aspects of the craft. He has a keen eye for fine details and it shows in the pieces he designs. Michael likes to create functional jewellery with youthful design.
